Bio for Christian Pearson: Worship Cafe
Christian Pearson, the host of KIHL's Worship Café has led a colorful and diversified life. His father, while serving in WWII on the European front, fell in love and married his mother, a Belgian beauty and aspiring opera singer.
Christian being born in Belgium, returned home to California with his parents after the war. The family continued growing to include four children, all of whom showed early artistic and musical abilities.
But Christian was the first to pursue a music career and sang with the group War in the late sixties. When he enlisted in the Air Force, his music career was put on hold as he went to serve his country in Viet Nam. He was married at this time with a growing family and upon his return sought an alternative career in the booming computer industry. But his passion for music continued as he sang on tour with the group Jason and organized various musical benefits.
He has been blessed with three lovely daughters and nine grandchildren. He and his wife Stephanie fell in love with the islands while vacationing in Kauai and in 2004 decided to move from California to Hilo. Immediately, they were embraced by the spirit of aloha that is ever present here as they adopted Calvary Chapel Hilo as their new church home.
While being a believer in our Lord all of his life, Christian's faith deepened after illnesses claimed the lives of his mother, brother and sister. His passionate love and faith for our Lord Jesus has inspired the writing of songs, poetry and essays to honor the grace and mercy of our heavenly Father when we walk through the valley of shadow.
With KIHL's Worship Café, he lends his naturally diversified talents with a flavorful variety of listening pleasure and displays a unique way of worshipping the Lord in the jazzy arena of his program.
Worship Cafe can be heard Sundays 1- 3 PM only on KIHL 103.7 FM.
